We’re thrilled to introduce our collection of handwoven rush placemats, available in oval, round, and rectangle silhouettes. These natural rustic table mats are a timeless addition to any setting—grounded in tradition, but perfectly suited for modern homes.

Each piece begins with English bulrush, sustainably hand-harvested from the freshwater rivers of Bedfordshire. After gathering, the rush is naturally air-dried and lightly sun-bleached, bringing out its soft, honey-toned finish. This traditional method preserves the integrity of the fiber while encouraging the warm color tones to develop gradually in the sun.

The rush is then transformed by skilled artisans into beautiful, functional forms. These handwoven placemats are crafted using centuries-old techniques, making each one a unique expression of traditional craftsmanship. Over time, you'll notice color variations depending on weather and season—what starts as a rich green evolves into a golden hue, mellowing naturally with age and use.
