These pieces are produced from a historic factory founded in 1903. Still in operation today, the pottery is listed as a historic monument and perpetuates a tradition of glazed earthenware, while adding a few variations and innovations. The pottery is made using local clay, reputed to be of excellent quality and extracted from a nearby quarry. Entirely handmade, the pieces are turned or shaped, then slip-coated, decorated, glazed and fired. The pieces are decorated with white, black, or red slips of clay. The decorations are a skillful blend of tradition and artistic expression. The pieces are then glazed in typical pottery colors of green, honey, light yellow, or black.
